On Monday,the 29th of June the 6th ,7th ,8th and 9th witnessed an exciting basketball match where different players displayed their talents and skills. NVS emerged victorious against the alumni team. This was due to some fantastic passing between Sujay Jethlia and Kevin Albuquerque.
Sujay Jethlia , captain of NVS scored a match winning 27 points out of the total of 43 points. Utkarsh Machchar , the captain of the almuni team also played very well scoring some fantastic three-pointers. However this was not enough, as the alumni lost 20-43.

Esha Reddy of Std. VI won a Bronze Medal in 50m. Backstroke & Butterfly stroke for Open State under 10 held in Pune.
Wednesday 1st July 2009
In the 5th National Junior Soft Tennis Championship 2009 for boys and girls, held at Punjab Agricultural University and organized by Punjab state Soft Tennis Association from June 26th to 30th in Ludhiana, Raashid Shaikh of Std. IX and Mir Asad Razvi of Std. XI represented Maharashtra team. They won a Gold medal for the team events. Raashid Shaikh won another bronze medal in mixed doubles while Mir Asad Razvi won a bronze medal in the singles event.

NVS VS ALUMNI GIRLS BASKETBALL MATCH:
A Basketball match was played between the NVS Girls’ team and the Alumni Girls’ team
which was won by NVS. The captain of NVS girls was Shikha Machhar and the captain of
Alumni Girls was Yamini Chavan.

DSO
Basketball:
In the DSO matches, the Under 14 and Under 17 Girls’ Basketball teams reached up to the state level. The Under -14 Girls’ Basketball team reached the semi final stage.Tasnvi Pareek has been selected to play for the Maharashtra team for the Nationals event.
The following players have been shortlisted for the National Selection Trials:
Gurneet Kaur Chhabda, Siddhesh Khandelwal, Ved Gingodiya and Aneesh Karwande.
Athletics:
Devashree Choudhary got the IIIrd place in the 100 mts. Running event of the Divisionals
held in Aurangabad on 12th November 09
Table Tennis:
The Under 14, Under 17, Under 19 boys’ and girls’ teams and the under 16 boys’
team reached the finals of the Divisionals. The Under 16 boys’ team won their final
match and played for the State level. They could reach upto the Quarter finals at the
State Level.
Sanika Muley of the Under 14 Girls’ team was selected for the State and the National
level matches. She won a Silver medal in the Nationals played at Godhra in Gujrat.
Srirang Ashtaputre of the Under 14 Boys’ team was selected for the State level
matches and he secured 8th rank in the state.
Sahil Dama & Ishan Dabri of the Under 17 boys’ team were selected for the state
level matches.
Badminton:
The following players were selected for the state level Badminton matches:
Aman Daga & Aditi Bhandari: Under 14,
Kriti Nagori: Under 17
Zamaan Lakhani: Under 19
The Under 16 Boys, Under 17 Boys and the Under 19 Girls teams were selected for the
State Level Tournament.
